When starting to study a new language, it is important to know the different levels that exist in order to learn it perfectly. In the case of Spanish, it is necessary to follow the Common European Framework, the entity in charge of creating, developing and establishing the linguistic levels of Spanish.\u00a0<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

Spanish levels according to the Common European Framework<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Common European Framework is the framework that refers to and establishes a scale that guides the organisation of language learning and the homologation of its qualifications. In this case, Spanish is a language established on a scale of 6 common levels that serve as a reference for students, centres and organisations.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

More specifically, the division is grouped into 3 different blocks that correspond to a more well-known division such as the basic, intermediate and advanced levels. Although it is true that they are not exactly the same, this comparison does serve to give us an idea of what the different levels are and what they correspond to.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Level A1 Spanish<\/span><\/h3>\n

The student is able to understand and use simple everyday expressions. He\/she can cover basic needs in an immediate way as long as the subject matter is common and simple. Can introduce him\/herself and others, ask for directions in a public place, or ask for directions to certain places. Can interact in a basic way with native speakers provided the conversation is slow.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Level A2 Spanish<\/span><\/h3>\n

Can understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of most immediate relevance and importance in everyday life. Can communicate simple ideas and carry out simple tasks. Can describe aspects of the past, the environment or ask questions about immediate needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Level B1 Spanish<\/span><\/h3>\n

Can understand the main points of texts on simple and familiar topics. Can deal more fluently with any situation and can write simple, logical texts. Can describe experiences, wishes and aspirations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Level B2 Spanish<\/span><\/h3>\n

Can understand the main ideas of complex texts on less familiar topics. Can understand the general concept even in technical texts. Can interact with native speakers with a high degree of fluency and spontaneity. Communication is usually easy and effortless. In terms of writing, they are able to write long, detailed and clear texts on different topics. They can usually also express the pros and cons of different options, both spoken and written.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Level C1 Spanish<\/span><\/h3>\n

Can understand a wide range of demanding texts. Can communicate and express ideas spontaneously and fluently. Can use the language flexibly, enabling him\/her to function well in social, academic and professional contexts. Can write well-structured, clear and detailed texts on a variety of subjects and complexities. Can use different mechanisms of writing, text cohesion and articulation correctly.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Level C2 Spanish<\/h3>\n

A user with level C2 has an almost total command of the language. They can effortlessly understand practically everything they read or hear and can summarise information from different written and spoken sources. Can express him\/herself fluently, precisely and spontaneously, even in complex situations, maintaining a high degree of coherence. Can produce very complex, well-structured texts on abstract or specialised subjects.<\/p>\n
